Site web : www.babonneau.com

PRESENTATION TEXT :

For the first time in France since 14 years spent in Northern Europe, Jean-Marie Babonneau, artist born in Pornic, invites you into an Odyssey of 20 years in images, a contemporary exhibition featuring a selection of his photography and video works. Somehow in the metaphorical continuity of the Breton fishermen and sailors who sailed long trips on the Northern Atlantic ocean, Jean-Marie Babonneau went on his own adventure in the north and lived among the Viking descendants. He brings us back today his treasures of images to share them with us this Summer, back in his native harbour.

Weekly presentations will be guided by the artist on Saturdays at 18:00. Photography workshops (digital) will be proposed (information here under). Free entrance at the exhibition and weekly presentation evenings. Website : www.babonneau.com

Le Petit Tour | French Art Day 2013

> FRANÇAIS

LE PETIT TOUR | PARIS-COPENHAGUE
installation vidéo interactive à vélo - v. 1.0

interactive video installation on bike - v. 1.0
presented at the FRENCH ART DAY festival, at Øksnehallen,
in Copenhagen, Denmark, on the 19th and 20th of January 2013.

Le Petit Tour / Paris-Copenhagen is an interactive video installation in the form of a darkened space of about 4 x 5 meters with 3 large adjacent walls  featuring projected videos featuring simultaneous views of a bicycle ride in both cities of Paris and Copenhagen. The three synchronized videos are activated by the visitor pedaling on the bicycle in the center of the installation which starts the simultaneous and virtual tour in both cities.

The parallel and simultaneous urban images of both European cities provide a cultural link between the Danish and French cultures in our age of virtual ubiquity offered by the internet. A virtual journey not without poetry, in our view. The implementation of the high-tech interactive aspect with the simplicity of the film reel and wheel in the contemporary form of an immersive video installation wishing to grant the audience an access to contemporary art as a playful participation on the poetic machine.

In 13 years of artistic career in the Nordic countries, Jean-Marie Babonneau, photographer and visual artist graduated from the National School of Photography in Arles and the École des Beaux-Arts de Nantes, presented in a number important artistic events and cultural venues in Denmark, Iceland and France. From time to time, he teaches workshops in photography in art school and events. www.babonneau.com

In 4 years of career in Denmark after 14 years of developing in Paris, Frédéric Dilé, web-designer and digital artist graduated from the National School of Applied Arts Olivier de Serres in Paris, presented his drawings and sculptures and his interactive work in collaboration with various artists in Paris and Copenhagen, during exhibitions, events and festivals. www.elid.dk

LE PETIT TOUR | PARIS-KØBENHAVN
interactiv videoinstallation på cykel - v. 1.0
udstillet under FRENCH ART DAY festivalen,
i Øksnehallen, København, de 19. og 20. Januar 2013.
